Are you fed up with dealing with IBS?

The symptoms of IBS are usually recurring, therefore symptoms are ongoing rather than just once or twice a year.  The severity and frequency of symptoms vary from person to person. Some people will experience an increase in the severity of symptoms when they feel stressed, whereas others will experience such an increase just after eating a large meal.

The primary symptom of IBS is pain or discomfort in the abdomen, usually from bloating. Of course, if you have a stomach ache, gas, or bloating once in a while, it doesn't mean you have IBS.

It is generally accepted that people with IBS have at least two of the following symptoms:

• Bloating of the stomach
• Stomach cramps
• Sharp stinging pains in the lower rectum (proctalgia fugax)
• Nausea, vomiting, wind and belching
• A feeling of having to rush to the toilet
• Constipation leading to difficulty passing stools
• Feelings that the rectum hasn't emptied completely when on the toilet
• Painful swallowing (odynophagia), but without hold-up of food
• General abdominal tenderness
• Pain tucked up under the left ribs (splenic flexure syndrome)
• Feeling full after small meals

The exact cause of IBS is unknown but there is evidently a strong link to anxiety. Due to this hypnosis is extremely beneficial in allowing an IBS sufferer to become an ex-sufferer and live free from these symptoms. Quite commonly people who suffer from IBS notice that their symptoms get worse during stressful periods during their lifes, for example exam times, relationship difficulties, or work worries.

Using hypnotheraphy can help you release the bottled up emotions that are causing your IBS symptoms. This therapy is the only therapy to acknowledge that every psychosomatic problem has a cause and secondly is the only therapy able to release the emotions that are causing the problem in the first place.

Medical intervention will only ever look at the symptom, therefore will seldom even acknowledge that there is a cause to IBS. Drugs will often be prescribed to try and help a bit, or diet advice will be given which can be of some help. Acid foods and strong spices are amongst a few of the foods that have been attributed to IBS onset.

Hypnotherapy can help you life your life free of the symptoms of IBS. By releasing the anxiety that is causing your symptoms your body will be able to recover and continue normal functioning. This will result in a permanent release from your symptoms, at desire for change we don't intend to help you 'cope' with your symptoms, we want you to be able to live your life permanently free from them.
